Overview
The role of Staff Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager and is a unique opportunity to contribute to a key area of growth for the company. You’ll be a member of a strategic and enterprising team that’s responsible for evolving our finance and accounting department, as well as developing relationships throughout the organization.
Our ideal candidate should be motivated, eager and passionate about accounting and financial reporting and excited to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. We’re looking for a strong communicator with a solid work ethic and organizational skills. They should also be able to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a strategic team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare month-end close duties including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Perform monthly fluctuation analysis on the balance sheet and income statement.
- Manage fixed asset records and processes, working with stakeholders at all levels to ensure accuracy.
- Assist in the implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department and strengthen internal controls.
- Respond to internal/external inquiries with customers, vendors, and auditors.
- Assist in identifying and driving process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and dashboards.
- Perform other ad hoc finance duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Accounting Manager, Controller, or VP of Finance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- At least 1 year of experience in Accounting
- Active CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CPA Candidate Preferred
- At least 1 year of experience in audit preferred
- Manufacturing industry experience preferred
- Highly proficient with Excel (vlookup, pivot tables, etc.)
- Meticulous time management skills, ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines
- Outstanding communication skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines
- Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
