PERC Hearing Officers

The Public Employees Relations Commission (PERC) is looking for attorneys who are interested in serving as hearing officers in public sector labor and employment law cases.  PERC hearing officers operate as neutrals with the same responsibilities and authority as administrative law judges.  They preside over cases involving PERC’s various jurisdictions, which include public sector labor cases, career service appeals, veterans’ preference complaints, drug free workplace act cases, and whistleblower complaints.  In addition to conducting administrative hearings held pursuant to Chapter 120, Florida Statutes, PERC hearing officers also assist the Commission with the drafting of final orders.

To be selected, candidates must have been a member of The Florida Bar in accordance with Section 447.503(5), Florida Statutes, and must have been in good standing with the Florida Bar for the preceding five years.  The hearing officer positions are located in Tallahassee and prior litigation experience in either the public or private sector is preferred.
