Job Summary:

We are seeking a LegalAssistant to work hybrid with our Managing Attorney based in Tampa,Florida.  This role will provide legalsupport, with opportunity to take their legal career to the next level.

Qualifiedcandidates will have civil litigation and insurance defense experience, theability to work independently, communicate effectively, and the ability toprioritize workload in a time sensitive environment.

Job Responsibilities:

       Assists attorney with the preparation of responsesto discovery, including meeting with clients

       Completeslegal research at the attorney request

       Sets up legal file jackets, as needed. Maintainssummary of all records received by case, for attorneys and claims personnel

       Assists in preparation of cases for trial. Sendsdiscovery requests. Monitors compliance with discovery by all parties andprepares motions

       Assists attorneys with investigation of cases.Obtains medical, insurance, employment and/or other documents/information,through record requests or subpoenas. Assists with the drafting of motions,briefs, and other documents. 

       Communicates with clients, claims adjusters,litigation specialists, attorneys’ offices, medical provider offices, policedepartments, courts, and agents to requestadditional information/documentation as assigned. 


Qualifications:

Required

  • Previous legal assistant experience, paralegal degree/certificate/certification, relevant coursework, or legal studies degree is required
  • 3+ years of civil litigation experience, preferably Insurance Defense or Personal Injury experience

       Excellentverbal and written communication, organizational and time management skills

       Knowledge of law office management, time billing andlegal research software preferred.
