The Revenue Accountant is responsible for various aspects of the deal posting process, accounts receivable aging review process, and work order estimate review process, and other accounting areas associated with the company’s revenue cycle in an accurate, consistent, and timely (ACT) manner. The revenue accountant must also be able to communicate effectively with team members in the accounting department and stores.
KEY TASKS:
- Review the capped deals report and collect information to post deals in 24 hours.
- Review and accurately post boat, motor, and trailer (BMT) deals.
- Ensure BMT revenue cut-off (review of customer deposits, communication with Business Manager, etc.)
- Update BMT units in IDS as needed.
- Prepare paperwork for service contracts and Vantage sales and submit to AP Rep for timely payment.
- Enter new boat warranty registration into manufacturer’s database.
- Monitor deals files to make sure all information gets to Shared Services timely and accurately.
- Work with Sales Tax Manager to verify sales tax is properly accounted for on each deal and will be paid to the proper taxing authority.
- Monitor work order estimates to verify liability is properly stated for each deal.
- Verify rebates are proper and enter in IDS and manufacture database
- Review rebate receivable aging and follow up with team support to ensure payment.
- Review accounts receivable aging for each type of receivable and communicate to the respective managers aged items requiring follow up to ensure collection is reasonably assured.
- Reconcile all hull insurance checks and process payment.
- Enter all rack and slip receivables not on the Dock and Slip program in IDS.
- Perform write off of aged receivable.
- Prepare and mail monthly accounts receivable statements.
- Enter, reconcile and offset monthly warranty payments.
- File and scan information timely.
- Other duties as assigned.
