Networks Connect is conducting a search on behalf of our client, a growing paving and asphalt company, who is on the look out for an Accounting and HR Specialist. This is a great opportunity for a professional who enjoys working in a close-knit environment and taking ownership of the company’s financial and people operations.
In this role, you’ll oversee day-to-day financial activities, employee administration, and compliance functions. You’ll report directly to the President and play a key role in maintaining both the financial and organizational health of the business.
Responsibilities:
Accounting & Finance
- Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)
- Process vendor invoices, purchase orders, and payments
- Generate and send customer invoices; follow up on outstanding balances
- Post daily transactions and maintain accurate general ledger records
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements
- Support preparation of monthly and annual financial reports
Payroll & HR Management
- Administer biweekly payroll for field and office employees
- Maintain accurate employee records and documentation
- Oversee onboarding, benefits administration, and compliance paperwork
- Serve as the primary point of contact for HR-related questions and policy matters
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations
- Coordinate with external providers for payroll processing and benefits support
Administrative & Operational Support
- Maintain organized financial and HR files and company records
- Collaborate with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and workforce planning
- Support external accountants or CPAs with annual tax filings and reporting
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of accounting and payroll experience
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks is required
- Experience in construction or a closely related industry strongly preferred
- Knowledge of HR processes, employee onboarding, and payroll compliance is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of all administrative functions
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Pay: $55,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
