Networks Connect is conducting a search on behalf of our client, a growing paving and asphalt company, who is on the look out for an Accounting and HR Specialist. This is a great opportunity for a professional who enjoys working in a close-knit environment and taking ownership of the company’s financial and people operations.

In this role, you’ll oversee day-to-day financial activities, employee administration, and compliance functions. You’ll report directly to the President and play a key role in maintaining both the financial and organizational health of the business.

Responsibilities:

Accounting & Finance

  • Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)
  • Process vendor invoices, purchase orders, and payments
  • Generate and send customer invoices; follow up on outstanding balances
  • Post daily transactions and maintain accurate general ledger records
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements
  • Support preparation of monthly and annual financial reports

Payroll & HR Management

  • Administer biweekly payroll for field and office employees
  • Maintain accurate employee records and documentation
  • Oversee onboarding, benefits administration, and compliance paperwork
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for HR-related questions and policy matters
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations
  • Coordinate with external providers for payroll processing and benefits support

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Maintain organized financial and HR files and company records
  • Collaborate with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and workforce planning
  • Support external accountants or CPAs with annual tax filings and reporting

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of accounting and payroll experience
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks is required
  • Experience in construction or a closely related industry strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of HR processes, employee onboarding, and payroll compliance is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of all administrative functions
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
