Position Summary
We’re seeking a motivated Tax Associate to join our expanding team. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and committed to developing into a well-rounded tax professional. You’ll assist in preparing individual and business tax returns, support senior team members, and gain hands-on experience with complex client engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare individual (Form 1040) and business (Forms 1065, 1120, 1120S) tax returns under supervision.
- Assist with year-end workpapers, tax adjustments, and trial balance reconciliations.
- Organize and maintain client files and supporting documentation.
- Communicate with clients to gather missing information and clarify data.
- Research basic tax issues and stay current on relevant law changes.
- Collaborate with CPAs and senior team members to ensure timely, accurate deliverables.
- Utilize firm technology including UltraTax CS, QuickBooks Online, and SafeSend.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
- 1–3 years of experience in public accounting or tax preparation preferred (internship experience considered).
- Actively pursuing or intending to pursue CPA or EA designation.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and tax/accounting software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
