IT Operations Specialist

Summary
We are hiring an on site IT generalist who can own day to day support while keeping core infrastructure healthy and secure. You will resolve end user issues, manage Microsoft 365 and Active Directory, maintain servers and networks, and handle hands on hardware tasks from laptops to rack equipment.
What You Will Do
- Provide front line support for Servers (Linux, Windows), Windows laptops and desktops, monitors, docks, printers, scanners, and peripherals.
- Build, image, and deploy workstations using standard configurations
- Administer Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID, including user and group management, licensing, conditional access, Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, MFA, and security baselines
- Manage on prem Active Directory, OU design, Group Policy Objects, login scripts, and domain joins
- Operate and maintain multiple Windows Server instances, including roles such as AD DS, DNS, DHCP, file and print, certificate services, and Hyper V or VMware
- Perform routine server tasks such as patching, backups and restores, log review, capacity checks, and hardware swaps
- Manage networking gear and configurations, including Fortinet FortiGate firewalls, Ubiquiti UniFi switches and APs, and site VPNs
- Configure VLANs, inter VLAN routing, subnets, DHCP scopes, DNS records, NAT, port forwarding, and QoS as needed
- Monitor and troubleshoot connectivity for wired and wireless networks, user access, and site to site tunnels
- Install and configure printers and print servers, including driver packages and print queues
- Create and maintain documentation, standard operating procedures, diagrams, and asset inventory
- Support security and compliance best practices, including least privilege, BitLocker, Defender, patch compliance, and secure remote access
- Build and maintain Intune device compliance, configuration profiles, Autopilot, and update rings
- Write simple automation or administrative scripts using PowerShell or Bash
- Assist with server room work such as racking equipment, labeling, and cable management
- Support VoIP phones and conference room A V setups
- Assist with identity federation and SSO integrations for internal and third party apps
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years in an IT support or IT operations role in a mixed end user and server environment
- Strong experience with Microsoft 365 admin, Microsoft Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams
- Solid knowledge of Active Directory, OU structure, GPOs, and Windows Server administration
- Hands on networking experience with firewalls and switches. Fortinet FortiGate and Ubiquiti UniFi experience is strongly preferred
- Proficiency with DNS, DHCP, VLANs, subnets, CIDR, NAT, and VPNs
- Confident working on hardware. Comfortable replacing laptop screens, keyboards, RAM, storage, and batteries. Able to swap server components such as disks, NICs, PSUs, and fans
- Skilled at printer setup and troubleshooting in both local and networked scenarios
- Proven troubleshooting methodology and clear communication with nontechnical users
- Ability to document procedures and keep accurate asset inventory
- Able to lift and move up to 40 lbs and work in a server rack environment
Preferred Qualifications and Big Pluses
- Microsoft Entra Connect or equivalent hybrid identity sync between on prem AD and cloud AD. Experience with user provisioning, attribute mapping, write back, and staged rollouts
- SSO and identity federation experience using SAML 2.0, OIDC, and OAuth 2.0. Ability to configure app registrations, SP and IdP metadata, claim rules, and SCIM based provisioning
- Bare metal hypervisor experience such as Proxmox VE, XCP ng or Citrix XenServer. Comfortable with VM templates, storage pools, bridges, VLAN tagging, live or cold migration, and basic HA concepts
- Hypervisor experience with Hyper V or VMware
- Backup solutions experience such as Veeam or similar
- Monitoring tools such as PRTG, Zabbix, Grafana, or UniFi Network Application
- Scripting with PowerShell for admin tasks and automation
- Kubernetes experience is a major plus. Familiar with container basics, kubectl, namespaces, ingress, storage classes, basic Helm usage, and cluster troubleshooting
- CMMC experience with NIST 800-171 or experience with ISO 27001
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified Administrator Associate, Fortinet NSE, or Ubiquiti

Pay: $60,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
