Position Overview

Vertical Earth is seeking a motivated and detail-focused Assistant Project Manager to support our site development projects. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow their career in civil construction and play a key role in delivering large-scale site development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager with daily coordination and execution of site development projects
  • Support project planning, scheduling, cost tracking, and progress reporting
  • Review grading plans, topographic surveys, and earthwork quantities to ensure project accuracy
  • Help coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field crews to maintain workflow and productivity
  • Prepare and assist with project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes
  • Participate in site visits and inspections to monitor progress, quality, safety, and compliance
  • Track production metrics, cut/fill quantities, and equipment utilization
  • Maintain clear communication with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders
  • Ensure all work meets Vertical Earth’s safety, environmental, and quality standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree highly preferred (Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline)
  • 1–2 years of project management experience in civil construction, earthwork, grading, or site development
  • Understanding of civil plans, earthwork processes, and construction sequencing
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with project management tools (Procore, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, HCSS, etc.) is a plus
  • Prior experience with estimating software such as PlanSwift or Agtek is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple tasks
