Senior Tax Accountant | Tampa, FL | $75,000 – $85,000

Some roles make you feel like a cog in a compliance machine. Others give you room to think, grow, and feel like your work actually matters.

This one sits firmly in the second category.

This is a 25-person, pure tax firm. No audit. No corporate maze. No disappearing partners. Just real tax work, real clients, and leadership that’s present and accessible when you need them.

The culture is deliberately simple. Do good work. Help people. Treat each other well. It’s a big part of why turnover here is almost non-existent.

In practical terms, the role involves a mix of preparation and review work across individuals, S-corps, partnerships, trusts, and estates, with the split typically landing around 60% preparation and 40% review. You’ll work closely with managers and partners who invest time in developing their people, not just delegating tasks, and you’ll be trusted to take responsibility for your work while supporting junior staff in a genuinely collaborative environment.

The role is in-office initially, not because of micromanagement, but because learning, mentoring, and influence tend to happen faster face to face. After the first year, most of the team works from home two to three days a week, with start and finish times that flex around life rather than the other way around.

One of the reasons people stay here is clarity about the future. There is a genuine path to shareholder, and every current shareholder grew internally. Two partners are planning retirement within the next five years, with two more following after that, and succession is discussed openly rather than quietly avoided.

The client base is varied and interesting, including closely held businesses, S-corps, partnerships, trusts, small estates, and the occasional 990. Typical client revenues run up to around $5M, which keeps the work engaging without unnecessary complexity.

This role suits someone with around five to six years of public accounting experience who is comfortable with both preparation and review work. Progress toward the CPA is preferred, with the expectation that you’re moving forward rather than standing still. A steady, collaborative approach and genuine pride in producing clean, thoughtful work matter more than ticking every box.

You don’t need to be perfect to explore this. Applying isn’t a commitment. At worst, you have a useful conversation and decide the timing isn’t right. At best, you land a role that actually fits how you want to work.

Applying for a job is not a marriage proposal. It is simply a conversation.

If it feels right, great.

If it does not, you will still walk away with more clarity about what you want next.
