We are representing a prominent, dual-focused law firm and title agency in St. Petersburg seeking a Senior Paralegal to join their growing team. This is a unique role for a highly experienced professional who can navigate both complex civil litigation and high-volume real estate transactions.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the litigation lifecycle as well as the nuances of real estate closings, particularly involving wholesale investment models. We are looking for a strategic thinker who can manage a heavy caseload with minimal supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Paralegal will serve as a technical lead, supporting attorneys in litigation while coordinating with the title division on complex real estate matters.
- Litigation Management: Oversee a varied caseload including real estate litigation, contract disputes, and debt-related matters from inception through resolution.
- Real Estate Coordination: Support the title and closing department with wholesale real estate transactions, ensuring legal documents are accurately prepared and title issues are addressed.
- Drafting and Research: Draft complex pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses. Conduct advanced legal research and analysis to support case strategy.
- Discovery Oversight: Manage the electronic discovery process, including the collection, review, and production of voluminous documents.
- Filing and Compliance: Handle advanced e-filing in State and Federal courts and ensure all files adhere to Florida Bar standards and real estate regulations.
- Trial and Hearing Prep: Lead the preparation for trials, mediations, and hearings, including the creation of exhibit binders and witness coordination.
- Client and Vendor Liaison: Act as a high-level point of contact for clients, investors, wholesale partners, and opposing counsel.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of experience as a paralegal, with a strong background in civil litigation.
- Real Estate Expertise: Direct experience with real estate law and title processes is required. Familiarity with wholesale real estate transactions is a significant plus.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office 365 and legal case management software.
- Knowledge Base: Strong understanding of the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and State/Federal e-filing systems.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional organizational abilities, a high level of discretion, and the ability to pivot between different practice areas seamlessly.
- Education: Paralegal certificate or degree from an ABA-approved program is preferred.
