Position Summary

ROMTech is seeking an experienced Director of IT Operations to lead and scale our IT infrastructure, systems, and operational support in a fast-growing healthcare technology environment. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of all IT operations while supporting clinical, commercial, and corporate teams.

The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, hands-on technical expertise, and experience operating within regulated healthcare or medical device environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and mentor the IT Operations team, including infrastructure, systems, help desk, and vendors
  • Oversee daily IT operations to ensure high availability, performance, and security of systems and networks
  • Own IT service delivery, incident management, change management, and problem resolution
  • Develop and execute IT operational strategy aligned with ROMTech’s business and growth objectives
  • Manage cloud infrastructure, on-prem systems, networking, endpoints, and enterprise applications
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare, data privacy, and security standards (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2, FDA-related controls as applicable)
  • Partner with Security, Engineering, Product, and Compliance teams to support secure and scalable technology
  • Oversee IT budgets, forecasting, vendor contracts, and cost optimization
  • Establish and maintain IT policies, procedures, and documentation
  • Lead disaster recovery, business continuity, and system resilience planning
  • Support audits, risk assessments, and internal controls related to IT operations
  • Evaluate and implement new tools, technologies, and automation to improve efficiency and service delivery

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years of progressive IT experience, including 3+ years in an IT leadership or director-level role
  • Strong experience with IT infrastructure, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar), and enterprise systems
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex IT environments
  • Experience supporting regulated environments (healthcare, medical device, life sciences, or SaaS preferred)
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and IT governance
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred

  • Experience in healthcare technology, medical devices, or patient monitoring platforms
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, SOC 2, FDA, or ISO frameworks
  • ITIL, PMP, CISSP, or similar certifications

Experience scaling IT operations in a high-growth organization
