JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under general direction of the Development Review Manager, assists with the City’s activities relating to development review and long-range planning in order to help the Planning and Development Services Division achieve the City’s goals and objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with at least a minor in urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, real estate, business or public administration, or a related field and two (2) years related working experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Requires a valid Florida driver license.
- Work involves extensive travel via automobile in and around the City and surrounding areas; involves a minimum of physical effort most days, however may be standing or walking extensively during events. Must have the ability to occasionally lift/carry objects up to 50 pounds.
EXAMPLES OF TASKS:
- Coordinates acquisitions and vacations of easements and rights-of-way, processes plat reviews, audits GIS layers, participates in internal development review meetings, provides customer service. Assists with the development, amendment, and implementation of the Land Development Code in coordination with local and state regulations and requirements. Attends evening meetings and makes presentations to the Board of Adjustment, Planning and Zoning Commission, City Council, and Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board.
- Conducts research and analysis; assists with real estate related tasks including the purchase, sale, lease, and/or management of City-owned property. May attend Countywide and/or regional meetings. May assist with activities relating to the Comprehensive Plan or floodplain management. May assist with CRA, Economic Development, and or Transportation projects.
- Must be flexible in hours and days of work due to frequent meetings and events outside normal work hours. Performs related work as assigned or required. Assists with, or assumes responsibilities as needed, in all other areas of the Planning and Development Services Division and Community Development Department as assigned.
