BDG Architects has an immediate need for a talented and motivated individual to join our team as an Accounting Associate to work in our downtown Tampa office. This position acts as a consultant to each Project Architect, our internal customers. In this position the employee will be responsible for tracking project finances and involved with a variety of accounting support functions.
Roles and Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to the following:
- Full-Cycle Accounts Payable to include invoice data entry, GL account coding, payment selection, check printing, assembly of backup paperwork
- Accounts Receivable to include creation and distribution of client invoices and timely posting of receipts
- Post various credit card expenses to appropriate GL account
- Identify, research and resolve invoice variances
- Track proposals and invoices
- Communicate effectively with various clients, vendors, and our architecture team
- Research, compile and analyze data to provide analysis of project finances
- Work on a daily basis with the vendors and consultants on issues ranging from billing and payments to insurance and lien waivers
- Develop and maintain positive relations with clients, consultants and Project Architects throughout all facets of project accounting
- Routine and Ad-Hoc Reporting
- Maintain Organized Filing System
- Supply requisitions
- Project number assignments
- Assist with various accounting and administrative duties based on the firm’s current established processes as delegated by the Controller

Desired Skills, Knowledge and/or Experience:
- Minimum educational requirement – Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or 2+ years of experience in similar position)
- Ability to accurately analyze data and effectively communicate information to others that is concise, accurate, and appropriate to receiving party
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Solid data entry skills
- Knowledge of basic accounting concepts, techniques, and principles
- Detail oriented
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and understand the importance of deadlines
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Must conduct themselves in a professional manner and display a “spirit of teamwork” and cooperation
- Values accuracy and thoroughness in all work with strict and careful attention to detail
