Job Summary:
The Research Data Coordinator IV is a highly skilled specialist responsible for overseeing the data activity of complex clinical research studies within the assigned program at Moffitt Cancer Center. This position leads the Research Data Coordinator effort in preparing for and participating in quality control audits to verify the accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of research data and contributes to the
development of concepts and techniques completing tasks in creative and effective ways.
Minimum Experience Required:
- High School Diploma/GED with six (6) years of data management required.
- Associate’s degree in clinical research or related field of study and four (4) years of data management experience OR a bachelor’s degree in clinical research or related field of study and two (2) years of data management experience preferred.
Minimum Skills/Specialized Training Required:
- Certified Clinical Research Professional designation required (CCRP, ACRP)
- *Must complete 10 relevant continuing educational contact hours earned during the calendar year*
- Must possess highly effective verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with staff and other health care professionals.
- Requires a high degree of initiative to resolve issues as the role is expected to make recommendations for new procedures. Must have ability to prioritize and pace one’s-self when working under the pressure of deadlines and high work volume. Successfully demonstrates competency by meeting established competency guideline/check list annually.
- Should be an expert in the use of EMR systems, clinical trial management systems and other various data capture/reporting systems.
- Must be able to interpret all components of the medical record and maintain confidentiality requirements as well as security of subject data. Excellent oral and written communication skills needed.
- Must be comfortable talking to physicians and other health care professionals as well as training other data coordinators. Must have experience in mentorship and be able to guide those acquiring skills sets described above.
