As a part of the Applications Developer team, the Applications Developer’s efforts will span the data lifecycle with an emphasis on curating, reporting, cleaning, and sharing of data. The Applications Developer Team predominantly programs in SAS. The Applications Developer I will utilize their expertise to manage data from a variety of sources and satisfy stakeholders from statisticians and scientists to clinical operations staff, sponsors, and regulatory agencies.

Develop and implement complex data manipulations to assess data completeness and accuracy. Create and maintain SAS programs to extract, subset, and summarize data from diverse sources, including large and complex databases. Develop, review, or enhance analysis programs and reports to monitor data accrual, quality, and study progress.

Design and implement systems to ensure data integrity, including in-house data monitoring processes, study status reporting, and clinical trial database management. Apply best practices in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of SAS programs while adhering to institutional data governance policies and procedures. Contribute to the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Collaborate effectively with team members to coordinate project activities and ensure timely completion of deliverables. Maintain the integrity and reliability of analysis datasets, documentation, and programming code. Proactively communicate project status, timelines, accomplishments, and issues to management, including mitigation strategies when challenges arise.

Work directly with faculty, operational staff, and other stakeholders to understand study objectives and translate them into technical and analytical requirements. Interface with laboratories, analytical partners, and regulatory agencies to support project execution and data sharing efforts. Assist in new data acquisition, exploration, standardization, and integration.

Develop and maintain domain expertise in complex enterprise applications and institutional data systems to support current and future data management and analytical needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and IT certification, OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 1-year relevant work experience, OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or other field involving software and analytical training

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in SAS programming for data cleaning, reporting, and analysis
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
