Staff Accountant

Location: St. Petersburg, FL

Compensation: Up to $75,000 (based on experience)

Job Summary

We’re seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a growing finance team in St. Petersburg, FL. This role will support general ledger accounting activities, assist with financial reporting, and ensure accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Identify discrepancies, research issues, and resolve variances
  • Prepare and analyze accounting records and financial reports
  • Support month-end close and reporting processes
  • Assist with special projects and ad hoc accounting tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • 1+ year of relevant accounting experience
  • Solid understanding of general accounting principles and procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel required)
