Technology Systems Designer – VOICE/DATA (1630851) — Summary:

This role focuses on designing low-voltage voice/data communication and information transport systems for complex building projects. The work combines Revit-based BIM documentation, coordination with multidisciplinary design teams, and technical design support across structured cabling, data networks, fiber, AV, wireless infrastructure, telecommunications rooms, and related systems.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of Technology Systems design experience, with strong low-voltage voice/data communications design background.
  • Strong understanding of structured cabling, data networks, fiber optic systems, telecommunications rooms, backbone cabling, AV, wireless infrastructure, and data center-related systems.
  • Proficiency with Revit BIM modeling, EASE, BIM 360, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office, along with exceptional communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with owners, clients, architects, and multidisciplinary project teams to define technology systems scope and coordinate design intent.
  • Develop and maintain contract documents, including drawings, diagrams, plans, details, and supporting design documentation aligned with standards.
  • Provide redlines, quality control reviews, equipment list feedback, shop drawing reviews, code and standards research, and construction-phase documentation such as ASIs and CCDs.

Important Notes

  • Preferred work arrangement is hybrid from Nashville, TN or Tampa, FL; full remote may be considered only for a uniquely qualified candidate.
  • Standard business-hours collaboration is expected with project managers, designers, owners, clients, architects, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • This role requires strong client-facing communication, design coordination, and leadership skills to help resolve technical challenges and support project delivery.
