Central HR consists of multiple areas of expertise including Talent Acquisition, Benefits, Classification & Compensation; Employee and Labor Relations; Continuous Process Improvement, HRIS, HR Business Partners and Talent and Learning Management. Position Summary:
The Executive Junior HR Business Partner plays a key role within the HR embedded shared services model, providing essential day-to-day support to managers and employees on various human resources-related matters. This position is a critical link between the HR Business Partner team and operational units, ensuring alignment with corporate policies, goals, and objectives.
- Provides support to managers and employees on a range of human resources-related matters, ensuring alignment with corporate policies, goals, and objectives.
- Act as the intermediary between the customer and the payroll team to address concerns and resolve issues related to payroll processes.
- Initiate Background Checks and review various levels of background checks. Assure compliance, completion and review findings prior to the appointment start date to determine eligibility to proceed with hire. Ensure employment verification and references are conducted and when applicable diploma or degree has been verified.
- Support the creation of offer letters, submit necessary paperwork, and initiate actions in the HRIS system for approval and processing. Participate in employee orientations and onboarding activities to facilitate a smooth transition for new hires.
- Collaborate with the college/department to create new position descriptions, reclassification or update existing ones. Submit classification requests to CHR Compensation and Classification for final review and approval.
- Partners with key stakeholders regarding subject matter related to performance evaluations. Send reminders to the college/department units about deadlines for the completion of Performance Evaluations.
- Lead, create, and/or support various project initiatives and deliverables within the HR function. Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned contributing to the overall effectiveness of the HR team.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree -OR- equivalent combination of education and experience
Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree.
- Senate Bill 1310- The Florida Senate (https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2023/1310) is conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S.
- SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements
- A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed:
- (a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- (b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree;
- (c) Six years of direct experience for a master’s degree;
- (d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
- (e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
- Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
- Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
