Ideal Candidate
We are excited to present the Project Coordinator role, which primarily focuses on providing essential administrative and operational support to the Systems Reliability Division. This position is integral to our team’s success, ensuring smooth operations and effective collaboration within the division. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities with accuracy and consistency.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities and be capable of working both independently and collaboratively with a variety of internal and external partners. Experience providing high-level administrative support is essential, including procurement processing, payroll coordination, vendor communication, contract and invoice management, records maintenance, and handling confidential personnel-related matters.
The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and other workflow and data-management systems, with the ability to maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and support complex procurement, fiscal, and operational activities for the division. Strong communication and customer service skills are required to effectively support section leadership, field staff, Human Resources, fiscal teams, and vendors while helping ensure efficient and consistent division operations.
This position requires flexibility and adaptability to respond to changing priorities and support emergency operations when needed, including lift station call management, alarm dispatching, and escalation activities during storm events or emergency activations.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Performs project management work by coordinating small to moderate projects or elements of larger complex projects.
- Directs and coordinates activities concerned with the implementation and completion of assigned projects.
- Prepares or assists in the preparation of contract drafts, requests for proposal, and other related documents for review.
- Manages project operations to ensure adherence to project plans and schedules.
- Identifies, tracks, monitors and communicates project-related tasks, issues, scope changes, variances and contingencies that may arise during the project.
- Monitors project budget, monitors status of allocated funds and controls expenses.
- Prepares reports and maintains project documentation.
- Performs other related duties as required.

Physical Requirements
- While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
- This position is primarily sedentary.
Work Category

Minimum Qualifications Required
- Graduation from an accredited four-year degree granting college or university; AND
- One year of experience managing projects, programs or activities; OR
- An equivalent combination of education (not less than possession of a High School diploma/GED), training and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies noted above.
Emergency Management Responsibilities
In the event of an emergency or disaster, an employee may be required to respond promptly to duties and responsibilities as assigned by the employee’s department, the County’s Office of Emergency Management, or County Administration. Such assignments may be for before, during or after the emergency/disaster.

- Child Abuse, Abandonment and Neglect Record Check using the State Automated Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS)
- Sex Offender and Sexual Predator record check using the list maintained by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE)
- Possess the necessary job-related license(s) or certification(s) that may include possession of a Florida Driver License (Class E) or an applicable Commercial Driver License (CDL)
