Inform Florida, the statewide network for 211 and 988 programs, seeks a collaborative, strategic, and mission-driven Executive Director to help strengthen Florida’s crisis response and community navigation network. This position will work closely with the Board of Directors, member centers, public agencies, funders, and statewide partners to advance Inform Florida’s identity, governance, advocacy, data strategy, and long-term sustainability.
Position Summary
The Executive Director partners with the Board of Directors to support effective governance, strategic direction, and accountability. The position also builds relationships with member centers, state agencies, funders, and other partners to strengthen the network and enhance services for those in need.
Core Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership, Governance, and Board Relations
Strengthen governance practices, including Board onboarding, annual planning, member expectations, meeting culture, feedback processes, and follow-through.
Board Development and Governance Culture
Support a Board culture in which members are prepared, engaged, transparent about conflicts, accountable to agreed-upon decisions, and focused on future-oriented problem solving.
Organizational Identity, Branding, and Communications
Coordinate branding, identity, positioning, and communications work, including stakeholder input, consultant support, messaging guidance, implementation planning, and digital/social media presence.
Data Strategy, Dashboards, and Statewide Learning
Develop and guide a statewide data strategy that improves how Inform Florida collects, governs, analyzes, shares, and uses 211/988 data for planning, policy, funding, disaster response, disaster recovery, and identification of unmet needs.
Revenue Growth, Advocacy, and Funding Strategy
Lead revenue growth, advocacy, and funding strategy formulation and implementation that protects existing support, identifies new or expanded opportunities, and clearly communicates Inform Florida’s statewide value proposition.
Network Coordination, Resource Database Feasibility, and Member Engagement
Strengthen member-center engagement, peer learning, and statewide coordination through consistent communication, shared problem solving, and practical alignment around strategic priorities.
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and directly related experience
· Progressively responsible leadership experience
· Experience working with or reporting to a Board of Directors, advisory board, governing body, or similar leadership group.
· Demonstrated experience managing complex relationships with funders, government agencies, community partners, contractors, or member organizations.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports, recommendations, presentations, and external communications.
· Demonstrated ability to manage strategic priorities, projects, timelines, deliverables, and competing demands in a remote or hybrid work environment.
Preferred Knowledge & Skills
· Strong understanding of nonprofit governance, Board relations, fiduciary responsibilities, committee structures, and effective decision-making practices.
· Demonstrated ability to translate broad strategic priorities into actionable plans, timelines, deliverables, and Board-ready recommendations.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Knowledge of 211/988 systems, statewide network coordination, and member-center dynamics strongly preferred.
· Experience with public policy, advocacy, government relations, state-agency partnerships, funding strategy, grant writing and grants management.
· Ability to analyze and communicate data needs, dashboard opportunities, data-quality expectations, and privacy considerations for external reporting.
· Ability to build effective working relationships with Board members, member centers, state agencies, funders, nonprofit partners, contractors, and aligned statewide organizations.
Position Details
· Employment Status: Independent Contractor. Average 30 hours per week/50 weeks
· Grant-funded position; continued contracting is contingent upon the availability of funding and ongoing organizational need.
· Reports to: Inform Florida Board of Directors through its President.
· Compensation range: $100,000 – $125,000 annually
Work Location, Travel, and Equipment
This position is expected to be primarily remote, with the understanding that the Executive Director must be available for in-person meetings, partner engagement, Board activities, advocacy efforts, and other business needs throughout Florida. Periodic travel within Florida will be required, and occasional travel outside Florida may be necessary to engage Board members, elected officials, funders, statewide or national partners, and to participate in approved professional conferences or association meetings. The successful candidate must be able to maintain reliable internet access and an appropriate remote-work environment.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
This position requires the ability to work independently using standard office technology, including a computer, phone, video-conferencing platforms, email, and shared document systems. The role requires the ability to read and analyze written information, prepare clear written materials, communicate verbally with individuals and groups, and participate in phone, virtual, and in-person meetings. Work generally involves prolonged periods of computer use, sitting, speaking, listening, and visual concentration.
