The Director of IT Services provides vision, strategy, leadership, and operational oversight for the College’s technology environment. The Director aligns technology with the educational, administrative, financial, and operational needs of students, faculty, staff, and executive leadership. The position oversees technology infrastructure, systems, cybersecurity, telecommunications, user support, technology compliance, risk management, and continuity of critical operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Oversee and evaluate technology staff, student workers, interns, and contractors as applicable, establishing appropriate expectations, accountability, and service standards.

· Manage and maintain LAN/WAN connections, wireless infrastructure, servers, firewalls, storage systems, and other network resources to provide secure and reliable campus connectivity.

· Oversee telecommunications and related services, including telephony, voicemail, and other communication technologies as applicable.

· Provide and coordinate technology support and training for students, faculty, staff, and administrators on new platforms, services, and resources.

· Ensure faculty have access to appropriate teaching tools and technology for seated, hybrid, and online learning environments and support effective integration of technology into classroom settings.

· Maintain a strong security posture across computing, networks, applications, endpoints, cloud services, and data storage while balancing security with usability and institutional needs.

· Develop, implement, evaluate, and document cybersecurity practices, including access controls, authentication, endpoint protection, patching, backups, vulnerability management, monitoring, and incident response.

· Manage user access to College systems and resources, including appropriate provisioning, modification, and timely termination of access for employees, students, contractors, and other authorized users.

· Protect confidential and sensitive institutional, student, employee, and financial information and ensure appropriate controls support the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of College data.

· Develop and maintain technology policies, procedures, standards, documentation, and security controls in coordination with College leadership and affected departments.

· Coordinate technology-related compliance with applicable requirements, including FERPA, the GLBA Safeguards Rule, PCI DSS, accessibility requirements, contractual obligations, and other applicable federal and state requirements.

· Work collaboratively with Business and Finance, Financial Aid, Admissions, Registrar, Student Services, Human Resources, Athletics, Academic Affairs, and other departments on technology, data, security, and compliance needs.

· Evaluate technology vendors and service providers for security, reliability, functionality, cost, data protection, contractual requirements, and compliance considerations.

· Monitor technology budget across departmental needs while maintaining responsible spending and operating within approved College budget limits.

· Assist with technology purchasing and ensure acquisitions are appropriately authorized, documented, secure, cost-effective, and consistent with College policies.

· Support payment-processing and point-of-sale technology in coordination with Business and Finance and applicable payment-card security requirements.

· Ensure the continual functioning of mission-critical technology operations and resources through appropriate backup, recovery, redundancy, and continuity practices.

· Assist the President’s Office and executive leadership with technical resources and expertise during meetings, events, presentations, and institutional initiatives.

· Stay current with emerging technology, cybersecurity threats, higher-education practices, and applicable regulatory requirements and recommend improvements when appropriate.

· Perform other related duties as directed.

COMPLIANCE, AUDIT, AND RISK MANAGEMENT

· Serve as a key institutional resource for technology-related compliance, internal controls, information security, and technology risk management.

· Support the College in meeting applicable requirements associated with federal and state regulations, Department of Education programs, privacy and security obligations, payment processing, accreditation, grants, insurance, contracts, and other oversight requirements.

· Serve as a primary technology resource during internal and external audits, government or regulatory reviews, accreditation activities, grant audits, cybersecurity assessments, insurance reviews, and other authorized examinations.

· Prepare, organize, maintain, and provide technology-related documentation, reports, policies, system information, access records, security evidence, and other materials requested by government agencies, auditors, accreditors, grantors, insurers, and other authorized entities.

· Coordinate responses to technology-related audit and compliance requests and work with responsible departments to provide accurate and timely information.

· Track technology-related audit findings, compliance gaps, vulnerabilities, and corrective actions and assist in developing and monitoring appropriate remediation plans.

· Maintain documentation sufficient to demonstrate the College’s implementation of applicable technology and information-security controls.

· Promptly escalate significant cybersecurity incidents, compliance concerns, data-security issues, audit findings, or material technology risks to appropriate College leadership and other parties as required by College policy or applicable requirements.

SUPERVISORY AND LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

· Provide effective leadership and direction to technology personnel and promote a culture of service, accountability, security, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

· Recruit, train, coach, evaluate, and develop technology personnel as authorized.

· Delegate responsibilities appropriately while maintaining accountability for the reliability, security, and effectiveness of technology operations.

· Promote a collaborative, respectful, and mission-aligned working environment consistent with the values and expectations of Trinity College of Florida.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and relevant professional experience may be considered.

· Demonstrated experience administering and supporting technology systems in higher education, nonprofit, business, or a comparable environment preferred, but not required.

· Experience with multiple operating systems, hardware platforms, mobile devices, cloud applications, networks, and enterprise or educational technology systems preferred.

· Demonstrated knowledge of cybersecurity principles, network security, identity and access management, data protection, backups, and disaster recovery.

· Experience developing or administering technology policies, security controls, compliance programs, audits, assessments, or regulatory reviews preferred.

· Strong project-management, organizational, documentation, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and communicate technical matters effectively to non-technical users.

· Commitment to ethical conduct, responsible stewardship of institutional resources, and service consistent with the mission and values of Trinity College of Florida.

PHYSICAL AND WORKING REQUIREMENTS

· Ability to work in a campus environment and respond to technology needs across offices, classrooms, and other facilities.

· Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and occasionally lift or move technology equipment and supplies within reasonable limits.

· May require occasional evening, weekend, or on-call work in response to scheduled events, system implementations, outages, cybersecurity incidents, or other critical technology needs.
