Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Construction Project Accountant and play a vital role in managing the financial health of construction projects from inception to completion. This energetic position offers the opportunity to leverage your accounting expertise within a fast-paced, project-driven environment. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, cost management, using Buildertrend and Quickbooks.
Duties
- Prepare and analyze detailed financial reports related to construction projects, including cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts.
- Manage project budgets by monitoring expenses, tracking variances, and implementing cost control measures.
- Conduct comprehensive cash flow analysis to ensure sufficient liquidity for ongoing project needs.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and perform balance sheet reconciliations specific to construction activities.
- Perform cost accounting analysis to evaluate project profitability and identify areas for financial improvement.
- Collaborate with project managers, finance teams, and external auditors to interpret financial reports and ensure transparency.
- Assist in data collection and analysis using spreadsheets, business intelligence tools, and Excel data analysis techniques to inform strategic planning.
Qualifications
- Proven accounting experience within the manufacturing or construction industry, with a strong understanding of financial concepts such as, debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and cost accounting.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial report writing, data analysis skills, and interpretation of complex financial reports.
- Must have experience with Buildertrend and QuickBooks.
- Strong knowledge of financial analysis techniques such as forecasting, budgeting, cash flow analysis, and cost management strategies.
- Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, accounts receivable management, and general ledger accounting tasks efficiently.
- Excellent spreadsheet skills with advanced Excel data analysis capabilities; experience with business intelligence tools is a plus.
- Strong understanding of technical accounting principles related to corporate accounting and financial reporting within manufacturing or construction sectors.
- Effective communication skills for preparing clear financial reports and collaborating across teams.
