About the Job
Venatôre is seeking a Desktop Support Technician to provide onsite and remote Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for the USCENTCOM Information Technology Services (CITS) Program supporting USCENTCOM J6 in Tampa, FL. This position is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and application issues across NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and Coalition enterprise networks. The Desktop Support Technician will maintain end-user computing environments, support equipment lifecycle management, assist with systems integration, and collaborate with technical teams to ensure reliable IT service delivery. This is an onsite position requiring an active TS/SCI clearance, with potential holiday and after-hours support based on 24/7 operational requirements.
Responsibilities
Desktop Support & Technical Operations
- Provide onsite, hands-on operations and maintenance (O&M) support for end-user computing devices, including desktops, thin/zero clients, laptops, Portable Electronic Devices (PEDs), printers, and peripherals.
- Deliver Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support, troubleshooting, and incident resolution for hardware, software, applications, and network connectivity issues.
- Perform end-user IT system and software maintenance supporting USCENTCOM Continuity of Operations (COOP) requirements.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair printers and other peripheral equipment.
- Maintain and troubleshoot Windows, Linux, and virtualized computing environments.
- Develop and maintain procedures for managing and testing desktop load-set configurations, including tracking software conflicts, device compatibility issues, and user-reported problems.
- Establish and follow standardized IT procedures to promote operational consistency, system reliability, and effective service delivery.
IT Asset & Lifecycle Management
- Coordinate and manage Automated Data Processing Equipment (ADPE) accountability, including new equipment deployments, replacements, and upgrades.
- Track equipment throughout its lifecycle, including the Computer Equipment Replacement Program (CERP) and Life Cycle Replacement (LCR) initiatives.
- Process end-of-life, defective, and damaged equipment through the Defense Reutilization Management Office (DRMO) in accordance with applicable procedures.
- Support strategic technology insertion, hardware refresh initiatives, and lifecycle replacement planning across the USCENTCOM IT enterprise.
- Maintain key customer relationships to support IT asset management priorities and enterprise modernization efforts.
Systems Integration & Service Delivery
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify system requirements and develop integrated solutions that meet operational, functional, and performance objectives.
- Coordinate with software developers, system administrators, and technical teams to implement system integrations, interfaces, and application programming interfaces (APIs).
- Perform systems planning and support the integration, expansion, and modification of existing IT systems to enhance functionality and workflow efficiency.
- Conduct integration testing and validation to identify and resolve system compatibility, functionality, and performance issues.
- Document integration processes, system configurations, testing results, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Provide technical assistance during deployment and post-deployment activities, resolving integration-related issues and ensuring successful implementation.
- Support service delivery strategy and solution design initiatives, partnering with operations teams to deploy capabilities across the enterprise.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities for improved system integration and operational effectiveness.
- Participate in technical meetings and workshops to share knowledge, recommend improvements, and promote best practices.
Coalition Network & Mission Support
- Provide technical support for Coalition Partner Networks (CPN) and Security Cooperation Organization (SCO) environments, as required.
- Offer technical expertise and guidance related to Coalition network connectivity, interoperability, and operational support.
- Collaborate with mission stakeholders and technical teams to address enterprise IT requirements and maintain mission-critical capabilities.
- Provide after-hours, weekend, or holiday support as necessary to meet 24/7 operational requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in desktop support, IT operations, systems administration, or a related technical support role.
- Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
- Applicable Department of Defense (DoD) 8140 or DoD 8570 certification.
- Experience providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support in enterprise IT environments.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, operating systems, applications, and peripheral devices.
- Experience working with Windows, Linux, and/or virtualized computing environments.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair printers and related peripherals.
- Experience with systems planning, coordination, connectivity, and integration across IT environments.
- Ability to expand, modify, or enhance existing systems to support evolving operational requirements and improve workflows.
- Experience developing, implementing, or maintaining standardized information systems procedures.
- Ability to document technical configurations, troubleshooting processes, and system support activities.
- Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, mission stakeholders, and end users.
- Ability to provide support outside standard business hours, including holidays, as operational requirements dictate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Microsoft technical certifications relevant to desktop support, systems administration, or enterprise IT operations.
- ITIL 4 Foundation certification.
- Previous experience supporting USCENTCOM or similar Department of Defense (DoD) organizations.
- Familiarity with USCENTCOM’s mission, operational requirements, and IT enterprise environment.
- Experience supporting NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and Coalition network environments.
- Familiarity with DoD IT asset management, equipment accountability, and lifecycle replacement processes.
- Experience supporting systems integration, deployment activities, and enterprise service delivery initiatives.
