Director of Data & Systems
About the Role
We’re looking for a people-first technical leader to build and scale our Data & Systems function. You’ll own strategy, team, and technical direction across our databases, analytics, cloud infrastructure, ERP, and integrations, and you’ll shift toward leadership and strategy as the team grows. (Hardware, network, and cybersecurity sit with our Director of IT, a close partner.)
What You’ll Do
- Build, hire, and develop a high-performing Data & Systems team, setting clear roles, goals, and standards
- Set department strategy aligned to company goals and advise executives on technology priorities, risks, and investments
- Own our business systems and cloud environment, including ERP (Fulfil), e-commerce, fulfillment, financial, and warehouse platforms
- Own data infrastructure, reporting, and analytics, with strong standards for data quality and governance
- Manage integrations with marketplaces (Wayfair, Belk, etc.), logistics providers, and EDI partners, and hold vendors to SLAs
- Partner with Finance, Operations, E-commerce, and Supply Chain to turn business needs into technology priorities
- Own the department budget and plan staffing, infrastructure, and vendor needs ahead of demand
What You Bring
- 7+ years in Data, Systems, or Technology leadership
- Hands-on background in data science, data engineering, or systems architecture
- Proven experience building and leading technical teams
- Strong knowledge of databases, APIs, integrations, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, BigQuery, Snowflake, or similar)
- Experience with ERP, e-commerce, fulfillment, or EDI systems (Fulfil a plus)
- Clear communicator with both technical teams and executives
Nice to Have
- Retail or multi-channel marketplace experience
- Familiarity with warehouse/inventory systems and the order lifecycle
Pay: $90,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
