Bedrock Communities (“Bedrock”) is a growing real estate private equity firm with offices in New York City and Tampa Florida, that focuses on the manufactured housing industry. Currently, Bedrock owns and manages approximately 2,500 units in central Florida. Bedrock Communities has raised approximately $70 million in equity, across two funds, to invest in the manufactured housing sector and manages a portfolio valued at over $250 million.

Role

Bedrock is seeking a detail oriented, hands-on, Accounts Payable Clerk. This role will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to be a part of a dynamic and growing company that has doubled the number of units under management in the last year.

Location

This role is not location specific as the individual will primarily be working from home. However, proximity to Tampa or NYC is a plus for occasional in person interactions with the rest of the firm.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The position requires that the candidate work in a variety of capacities within AP, including:

  • Manage the accounts payable process from start to finish, including receiving, processing, assigning, verifying, and reconciling invoices
  • Managing vendors in the system by maintaining payment information and verifying federal id numbers
  • Issuing 1099s annually
  • Reviewing expense reports for all firm employees.
  • Cash management including funding and ongoing maintenance of common cash account, reserves and escrows
  • Perform all month-end close procedures for property management company
  • Assist in preparation of financial reports for internal and external use
  • Preparation and analysis of property cash flows

Other responsibilities may include:

  • Timely, accurate bank reconciliations
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Manage all intercompany payables and receivables
  • Assist in budget preparation
  • Generate schedules and ad hoc financial reports
  • Other financial and operating projects as needed

Requirements

  • Applicant must have prior experience in accounts payable and a basic knowledge of accounting.
  • Real Estate property management experience and or experience using QuickBooks, Concur, or AppFolio is a plus but not required.
  • The candidate must be a self-starter with a strong desire to work hard and contribute in a small entrepreneurial work environment.
  • Proficiency with Excel
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to preserve confidentiality of information
  • Team player with strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work autonomously, be proactive, multi-task and work in a lean group while also being able to work collaboratively across departments
