Full Job Description
This is public contact work in the field supporting billing and collection of utility accounts for services rendered by the City. Work primarily involves the operation of potable water meters to initiate and terminate service, collect payment on delinquent accounts, and facilitate proper billing of accounts.

- Possess a valid high school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Possess a valid Driver’s License.
- Have some experience in work involving public contact and collection activities.
- Be able to communicate competently and professionally, both orally and in writing.
- Be able to interact with the public with considerable tact and diplomacy.
- Have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Qualifications. Preferred applicants:
- Have some knowledge of the geographical layout of the city.
- Have some computer or handheld experience.
- Have the ability to carry out independent collection duties with firmness, tact and impartiality according to instructions, regulations, and policies.
- Have the ability to perform moderate manual labor including lifting, bending, kneeling, and turning stuck valves even under adverse environmental and weather conditions.
