Why Work Here?

“You get to help make movies.”

I am looking to bring on an accountant to my company. Mainly we produce movies for television but we also produce the occasional indie feature.

This job is mainly entering transactions, organizing backup for those transactions and assisting with processing payroll. Eventually, it will include preparing the ledger for state tax incentive audit. These accounts are expense only so they will not be dealing with accounts receivable. I am averaging about 450 transactions per movie including auto generated payroll transactions. The payroll software is called Linx and the accounting software is called Luca. This position will be working alongside me, the producer and could eventually lead to working as a line producer.

Compensation starts at $12.50 per hour for my TV movies. However, this position will be budgeted for 5 weeks for each film. We start prep on a movie starting tomorrow and then will begin prep on another film the following monday. So next monday when entering transactions for two movies this position will be paid $12.50 per hour for both movies. I also guarantee 12 hours of pay per day. So next Monday the person would be making $350/day. If they are entering transactions for 3 films at once they would be making $525/day. If we are producing films in an incentive state, I will pay a $1000 bonus per film for ledger prep. By the end of June, we are on schedule to complete 7 movies where we filmed 9 total last year. It is my goal to get us producing over 20 films per year which we will probably hit next year with our new deal with our distributor.

This job will have long hours. Once the right person is in place, they will have the option to work remotely. Some travel may be required when we move production but it will not require relocation.
