GENERAL PURPOSE

The Accountant II is a member of the Finance team reporting to the Controller. The Accountant will be the primary staff accountant and focused on AR as well as the GL. Teamwork is required since the company is flexible and fast-moving. A strong desire to focus on “solutions” and “continuous improvement” are required for a good cultural fit.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Responsibilities

  • Primary areas of responsibility include AR, Inventory, GL, Bank, Fixed Assets, etc., and others as required
  • Ongoing daily and weekly maintenance of the accounting records
  • Reconciliation of accounts in scope
  • Support the Sales and Account Management team in billing and collection processes
  • Support the close process
  • Making journal entries
  • Production of reports and analysis for recurring and ad-hoc reports
  • Additional Responsibilities
  • Supporting development of accounting procedures to support business process changes
  • Assisting other staff in training

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s in accounting, finance or related preferred

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in the same or similar job
  • Corporate accounting experience required, not tax or audit only
  • 1 or more system experience: QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, DataNinja

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively to prepare and explain financial data

  • Demonstrated experience with Excel using advanced Excel features (pivot tables, lookups, etc.).
  • A combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the application and usage of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • A college degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field, and/or equivalent experience is highly preferred
  • Ability to maintain strict and confidential information related to pay, personnel status and disciplinary actions.
  • Ability to discreetly and tactfully recognize and handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Skill in organizing work, defining tasks, setting priorities, working independently and following through on all projects and assignments with minimal direction.
  • Must be dependable, detail oriented, efficient, attentive to detail with excellent follow up skills
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision

Pay: $60,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
