Our client, a well-established nonprofit organization, is seeking to expand its growing team. The Accounting Clerk role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with the leadership team and gain direct exposure to the CFO.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$45,000 – $55,000
Position Overview:
The Accounting Clerk is a crucial additional for the team assisting with accounting functions, supporting the CFO and contributing to the organization’s overall success. Key responsibilities for the Accounting Clerk include managing accounts receivable/payable and assisting with month end close processes. Additionally, this role will other clerical duties as needed. This position requires an individual who excels in attention to detail, demonstrates strong organizational skills, and can effectively handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced nonprofit setting.
Responsibilities of the Accounting Clerk:
- Process accounts receivable and payable, prepare bank deposits, and handle invoices while accurately recording cash flow, AR/AP data, and accounting transactions
- Support month-end close duties and ensure timely completion of financial tasks
- Provide general administrative support to executive leadership, including scheduling, logistics, and maintaining files
- Assist with donor correspondence, including thank-you letters, tax-deductibility information, and preparing income and expense reports for major fundraising events
Qualifications for the Accounting Clerk:
- 2+ years of applicable experience
- Self-starter with positive mindset
- Keen organizational tools
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred; relevant nonprofit experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
