DescriptionThis is accounting and administrative work preparing and maintaining varied fiscal and personnel forms, records, and reports. Work requires independent judgment on technical accounting and budgetary problems; the application of general accounting procedures in the maintenance of central municipal financial accounts; the application of basic recruiting and employment related policies and procedures; and the ability to review and record financial transactions within established systems and procedures.
An employee in this class may act as a primary liaison coordinating various accounting activities with other municipal departments; and must be able to tactfully and patiently interact with City staff and customers.
Salary: $20.32 – $30.97 Hourly Close Date: 02-12-2025 (11:59 PM)To QualifyMinimum Qualifications. Applicants must:· Have a valid high school diploma or GED equivalency.· Possess and maintain a valid Driver License.· Have some progressive experience in the preparation and maintenance of accounting records.· Be proficient in the use of a personal computer and Microsoft Office Suite software, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.· Have progressive customer service experience.· Be able to quickly and accurately analyze and record moderately complex financial, and accounting details and information using various computer software.
Desirable Qualifications. Preferred applicants:· Have supplemented their education by successful completion of some college courses in accounting. · Have progressive experience in preparation and maintenance of accounting records.· Have considerable knowledge of accounting principles and procedures and their application to a variety of accounting transactions and problems.· Have some experience with Oracle eBusiness Suite software.
