Job Description: Accounting Payable Associate

Classification: Hourly and Part-Time (between $17 – $19 per hour based on experience)

FLSA Status: Non Exempt

Reports to: Accounting Manager

We are looking for a highly skilled Accounts Payable Associate to perform variety of accounting tasks.

Accounts Payable Associate Job Responsibilities:

Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.

Accounts Payable Associate Job Duties:

  • Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
  • Charges expenses to G/L accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries.
  • Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments.
  • Pays employees by receiving and verifying expense reports and requests for advances; preparing checks.
  • Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
  • Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
  • Insurance Certificate Scanning and Filing electronic documents.
  • Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

Accounts Payable Associate Skills and Qualifications:

Tracking Budget Expenses, Attention to Detail, Thoroughness, Organization, Analyzing Information , Accounting, Vendor Relationships, PC Proficiency, Data Entry Skills, General Math Skills

  • 5 Years of Proven accounting experience in accounts payable
  • Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
  • Competency in MS Office, databases and accounting software
  • Accuracy and attention to detail, and well organized
  • Data entry and word processing skills
  • Assist office services with reception, kitchen, sorting and processing mail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and required to meet deadlines
  • Property Management knowledge is a plus
  • Other Job Duties as required

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $17.00 to $19.00 /hour
