Principle  Function:
Responsible for  managing the daily church office secretarial and receptionist duties, giving  administrative support to the Senior Pastor as requested. Schedules and  coordinates the use of all church buildings and  equipment.
Responsibilities
Informs Senior Pastor of crises and problems within our church  membership.
Issues appropriate certificates:  membership/baptism/confirmation.
Maintains accurate records of membership weekly for annual  reports.
Specific  Administrative Duties
Compiles, edits, prints and e-mails monthly  newsletters. Maintains church computer system, IT network, phone messaging system and Church website.
Maintains a calendar for current use of facilities and equipment
Schedules use of buildings in compliance with established policies and  guidelines
Provides and  maintains a master calendar of events and distributes to leadership  monthly.
Assimilates, organizes information, and types Sunday bulletins, inserts, and  memorial bulletins.
Prepares correspondence, reports, minutes for meetings, committees, and other  special requests.
Informs all committee members and chairpersons about meeting times, places and  dates.
Prepares and coordinates all church-wide mail-outs.
Oversees the use, repair and replacement of office  equipment.
Secures and maintains all methods of advertising for the  church.
Orders office supplies and monitors excess use of  supplies.
Updates and supplies all information for brochures for committees and the  church.
Prints and binds pew pads and all supplies for pews.
Develops and maintains training manual(s) for office  volunteers.
Recruits and trains  office volunteers to hospitably: answer phones, greet members  and visitors, records and  updates member information and use of office equipment.
Performs other duties as requested by the Senior  Pastor.
Requirements
*Must have a proven  ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and teams of  volunteers.
*Embraces Christian  discipline and United Methodist doctrine, theology and social  principles.
*Have leadership and  management experience with good verbal communication, conflict management, and computer skills.
Education/Training
Proficiency including Microsoft Office (Microsoft Publisher, Excel,  Word, Outlook, PowerPoint presentations) and data base  management.
Shelby training will  be required for membership records.
Have a detailed  understanding of policies and practices of First United Methodist Church Hudson.
Ability to work with  confidential information or conflict situations.
Be skilled in  training office volunteers.

Applicants preferred  from FUMC Hudson membership.
