ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The Institute for School Reform (ISR) in the College of Education is a nationally recognized research and training center that provides technical assistance to school districts and other service delivery leaders throughout the United States. The ISR’s $20 million budget is derived from grants from federal, state, and private sources. It is the mission of the ISR to implement research-based and innovative practices in Florida schools through the use of technical assistance, training, coaching, and program evaluation. The ISR, through various projects, seeks to help enable all schools in the state of Florida to provide a safe, effective, and efficient environment; to continuously improve the academic and social/emotional growth of ALL students; and to engage families and communities in the schooling process.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Administrative Assistant collaborates with the fiscal agent to ensure all hiring and travel needs for the regional teams are met promptly, communicate all personnel changes, prepare, type and submit travel, maintains inventory of supplies and equipment, purchases office supplies for regional teams, maintain supervisor’s and SRLDs calendars and schedule meetings, handles general phone calls, engages proactively in day-to-day operations, format data charts, excel spreadsheets and memorandums and provides assistance, support and initiatives in regional team activities and related tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborates with the fiscal agent to ensure all hiring and travel needs for the regional teams are met promptly.
Prepares, types, submits travel requests and forms as needed for staff to claim reimbursement of expenses.
Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment, and purchase equipment and office supplies for regional teams.
Provides assistance, support, and initiative in regional team activities and related tasks
Maintains supervisor’s and SRLDs calendars and schedules meetings as appropriate.
Perform other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
At least four years of experience in an office or administrative support position.
PREFERRED:
Bachelor’s degree in related field or business administration.
SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING:
Ability to type 40 to 50 wpm.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Word programs.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
