ASSISTANT FACILITIES MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant Facilities Manager must strive for the highest level of professionalism, while meeting the client’s needs, and a commitment to achieving a goal of 100% uptime throughout the facilities engineering team. This position values guests and is committed to providing a positive impression withWorldClass Service. This includes the management of Engineering and Maintenance personnel, work schedules, project and work planning, and time and attendance reports. This position requires physical activity including standing, walking, climbing and ability to lift 50 pounds.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in oversight of Engineering and Maintenance departments.
- Assist with management, scheduling and process payroll for the Engineering and Maintenance department personnel.
- Assist with oversight of full-time and part-time employees within the department.
- Manage building control system and all components associated with the climate control system, including programming, monitoring and scheduling system for the most economical and sustainable level of operation.
- Develop and implement regular safety meetings, assure department compliance with OSHA, and actively participate in facility safety drills and planning.
- Ensure Engineering and Maintenance team has required tools, parts, and resources to perform their job effectively and safely.
- Actively work to reduce gas, electric and water bills.
- Assist Building Operations Manager with organizing all building renovations, repairs and improvements.
- Coordinate and document all building repairs and preventative maintenance using the Aware Manager system.
- Uphold and enforce company policy and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
- An AA/AS Degree or Vocational Certification in related field preferred
- Thorough knowledge of local, state and federal codes and regulations
- Strong leadership skillswith emphasis on teamwork and workplace safety is essential
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Strong computer and software experience desired
- Knowledgeable with Johnson Controls Metasys building management system preferred
- Excellent attention to detail good time management skills are essential
- Ability to work long hours, including days, nights, weekends and holidays
