Seeking a full-time Assistant Manager for an apartment community in Brandon, Florida. The property was constructed in 2017 with 120 apartments (1, 2 and 3BR) to serve low-income households under the LIHTC program. Ideal candidate will have previous experience working in affordable housing. Position is full-time, Monday through Friday (8AM-5PM). Offering $12/hr plus benefits – medical, dental, vision, paid time off, paid holidays, 401(k) with employer match.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the apartment community.
  • Responsibilities include reviewing applications for potential tenants, applying established criteria for resident qualification, coordinating apartment rentals, and recertifying tenants on an annual basis or as required by LIHTC.
  • Answer and address property information inquiries from applicants, tenants and visitors.
  • Assist applicants with the completion of apartment applications.
  • Assist Manager in maintaining the property’s waiting list, tenant files, and other administrative tasks.
  • Filing and maintaining organization of office.
  • Facilitation of tenant programs, as directed by Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Should be able to demonstrate proficiency in fair housing practices, Florida landlord-tenant laws, affordable housing programs, and computer usage (basic Microsoft office programs; OneSite leasing software).
  • High school diploma or its equivalent. TCS or other affordable housing industry certification is a plus.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with word processing software, and other business software and office equipment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Consistently positive, professional and friendly demeanor.
  • Proficiency in Spanish language is preferable
