Job Title: Assistant Project Manager – Commercial Retail Construction (Ground-Up Builds)
Location: Tampa, FL
Position Overview: The Assistant Project Manager will support the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing ground-up commercial retail construction projects. This role involves managing project documentation, liaising with stakeholders, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Coordination: Assist in developing project schedules, budgets, and work plans. Monitor project progress and report updates to stakeholders.
- Documentation Management: Prepare and manage project documentation, including contracts, permits, RFI logs, submittals, and change orders. Ensure all records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a point of contact between clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams. Facilitate clear and timely communication to address project needs and resolve issues.
- Procurement Assistance: Help in sourcing and purchasing materials and services. Ensure timely delivery to align with project schedules.
- Quality and Safety Oversight: Support the implementation of quality control programs and safety protocols. Conduct site visits to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Financial Tracking: Assist in monitoring project budgets, processing invoices, and preparing financial reports. Identify and address any discrepancies.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and collaborate with the Project Manager to develop mitigation strategies.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in construction project management, preferably in commercial retail ground-up construction.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of construction methods, regulations, and best practices.
- Certifications: OSHA 30-hour certification is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to visit and inspect job sites as needed.
- Capability to work in various environmental conditions, including active construction sites.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
