Full Job Description

This position is responsible for working alongside and assisting the Project Managers in the daily tasks of managing, coordinating and executing various construction projects in a timely manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops content language that is specific to each project bid manual package ·
  • Compiles and analyzes bids (contacting subcontractors, analyzing bids, etc.) ·
  • Compiles and evaluates subcontractor quotes, making certain determinations from various quotes, on a case‐by‐case basis · Participates in various estimating and takeoff responsibilities as needed ·
  • Assists in the creation and entering of Main Summary information in the tracking of job costs
  • Produces and monitors project schedules
  • Learns how to effectively utilize Excel and Viewpoint Software programs including job setup and maintaining various updates
  • Manages daily communication between Wehr field staff, subcontractors, owners and design teams
  • Creates and distributes Owner/Architect/Contract (OAC) progress meeting minutes and agendas
  • Attends progress or pre‐bid meetings and frequently leads portions of these meetings
  • Reviews and tracks all submittals to the architect for review ·
  • Uses decision making ability to approve or reject submittals and subcontractor billings
  • Writes and tracks Requests for Information (RFI’s) and answers any questions concerning RFI’s
  • Obtains pricing from contractors, creating, writing and maintaining change order logs to approve as needed per project
  • Manages subcontractor responsibilities and aids in giving them direction as needed
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management
  • Travels to and from job sites

Education and/or Experience: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree (B.A) from a four‐year college or university or; two (2) to three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. A high school diploma or GED is required.
Software Experience: This position requires the use of the following software programs: Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera or Microsoft Project, On‐Screen Takeoff, Viewpoint, Building Connected, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, E‐Comm, E‐Builder, Drop Box or similar program such as ShareFile, New Forma and other digital equipment.
Certifications: OSHA‐30, Healthcare/Infectious Control Training and Certifications as needed.
License: This position requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive from job site to job site. *Encouraged to sit on a non‐profit sub‐committee/board as part of business growth and development.
Language Skills: This position requires the ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills: This position requires the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: This position requires the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands: This position rarely requires, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling. This position sometimes requires sitting, standing and walking. This position frequently requires the use of hands to finger to handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms and talking/hearing. This position frequently requires lifting up to 10 pounds and rarely requires the lifting up to 25 pounds. Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus with eyes are all important components of this job.
Work Environment: This position rarely requires exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, working with explosives, risk of radiation or vibration. This position sometimes requires working near moving mechanical parts work in high, precarious places when on the jobsite and working in outdoor weather conditions. The noise level is considered moderate when in the office (business office with computers and printers) to loud when on the jobsite.
Travel: This position may require travel. This position also requires the mastery of all skills listed as a Project Engineer.
