As Assistant Property Manager you will have the responsibility of:
- Showing available apartments to prospective residents
- Qualifying, demonstrating and leasing apartments in accordance with Fair Housing Laws
- Assisting the Property Manager with preparation of weekly and monthly reports
- Collecting and processing rent, application fees, security deposits, etc on a daily basis
- Contacting residents to collect delinquent rent payments
- Maintaining a high standard of resident relations
- Preparing service requests, distributing to maintenance staff and following up as appropriate
- Effectively communicating with residents and staff in a courteous manner to ensure resident satisfaction
- Providing assistance to residents regarding complaints
- Handling details associated with the turnover of apartments
- Accountable for the duties of the Property Manager in his or her absence
- Displaying leadership skills
- Assisting in preparation of community newsletters, flyers and resident letters
- Assisting in planning of community events
- Having knowledge of current market conditions
- Advertising and promoting the community
- Coordinating and performing move-in/move-out inspections with residents
- Accepting and approving rental applications, lease renewals and new move-ins
- Handling details associated with the turnover of apartments, inspection of apartments, product preparation, and administrative record keeping
- Maintaining necessary records of all supplies and equipment
- Reviewing all delinquent accounts and determining action required
- Ensuring that all rents are deposited into the property bank accounts
- Inspecting property amenities for proper operation
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED is mandatory, college degree preferred
- 1+ year of community management experience
- Yardi Voyager experience a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office in a Windows environment
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with others
- Must have strong interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work with multiple deadlines, maintaining efficiency and control over projects assigned within timeframes allowed and changing priorities
- Ability to assess a situation and come to an appropriate decision quickly
- Positive resident relations
- Strong organizational skills
- Highly motivated and energetic with the ability to motivate others
- Customer oriented, enthusiastic, team play and goal oriented
- Reliable transportation a must
- Current valid driver’s license
