Full Job Description

The Assistant Property Manager works alongside the Property Manager to run the day-to-day operations of the property. This position acts as the liaison between guests and residents and the Property Manager to answer questions and resolve maintenance and tenant issues.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Assistant Property Manager are as follows:

  • Assist with accepting move out notices, service requests and resident transfers.
  • Responsible for implementing lease renewal and resident retention programs.
  • Manage resident relations issues, which includes taking resident phone calls, requests and concerns.
  • Maintain and update resident lease files and computer records for the community, including generation of reports
  • Prepare accounting records and reports, including deposit accounting and monthly closeout
  • Manage rent collections, late notices and posting rent.
  • Assist in the eviction process and follow policies for local municipalities in a timely manner
  • Review and inspect vacancies, make-ready apartments and models.
  • Assist the Property Manager in various tasks as needed
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The qualifications for an Assistant Property Manager are as follows:

  • A minimum of 1 year of related leasing or property management experience.
  • Experience with AMSI is preferred, but not required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to motivate and lead a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Able to multitask and meet deadlines in a timely and organized manner.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
  • Must be able to tour the community with clients, which includes walking the property and climbing stairs.
  • A valid driver’s license required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 per hour
