Associate Attorney at Boutique Commercial/Civil Litigation Law Firm (Part-Time or Full-Time available)
We are a boutique civil litigation law firm focusing on commercial disputes who are committed to providing personalized and exceptional legal services to our clients and are currently seeking a skilled and motivated part-time or full-time Associate Attorney with 1-5 years of experience to join our close-knit team. We are seeking a team-player with a positive attitude that is eager to be part of a growing law firm.
The candidate will be expected to work in-office several days a week for mentorship opportunities while also being afforded the option of flexible remote work. For a part-time candidate, the Firm may consider a fully remote position depending on availability.
Position: Associate Attorney (Part-Time or Full-Time available)
Location: Greater Tampa Area / Land O’ Lakes, Florida
Compensation: Commensurate with experience (with possible bonus structure)
Duties and Responsibilities:
As an Associate Attorney, you will work closely with the managing attorneys and staff to support our clients in commercial and civil litigation cases. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conduct legal research on various aspects of cases, statutes, regulations, and legal precedent.
- Staying updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends.
- Assist with case management and strategy development.
- Draft legal motions, documents, pleadings, and correspondence.
- Assist in legal discovery, including preparing and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admissions as well as assist with or be responsible for depositions and other discovery (depending on level of experience for the candidate).
- Assist with preparation for and/or attend discovery and other court hearings.
- Assist with trial preparation, including preparing exhibits, witness lists, examinations, motions in limine, and other trial preparation tasks.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Manage administrative tasks such as billing, time tracking, and record-keeping.
- Analyze and summarize legal documents, depositions, and testimony to provide managing attorneys with insights and recommendations.
- Collaborating with the legal team to provide comprehensive legal solutions for our clients.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and must be a member in good standing with the Florida Bar.
- Preferred experience in commercial or real estate litigation.
- Strong knowledge of Florida legal procedures and court rules.
- Proficiency in legal research, including LexisNexis or Westlaw.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to comply with deadlines and court-imposed schedules.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and legal writing skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Professional demeanor and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite and other relevant software applications such as legal case management software.
