Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Public Relations, Mass Communications, Journalism, or related field preferred.
  • Responsible for social media content to create demand, drive revenue for the parks and enhance brand reputation.
  • 2+ years of marketing, communications or relevant experience
  • Experience and familiarity with the leading social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and Pinterest.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) with an ability to adapt communication style to a number of different audiences.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize diverse projects; highly organized and demonstrates a strong sense of urgency to complete goals and tasks
  • Enthusiastic, confident change-agent with ability to work in a demanding and fast paced environment
  • Innovative and analytical approach to digital and social media
  • Ability to be creative and engaging in written communication, especially within the restrictions of social media platforms, while strictly adhering to project guidelines for tone and voice.
  • Ability and desire to stay on the cutting edge of industry best practices, including frequent review of relevant blogs, websites, social media though leader social media streams, etc.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry loads of up to 10 pounds on occasional basis
  • Perform tasks that require occasional; bending from waist to floor, kneeling and squatting, and reaching overhead
  • Position will perform frequent simple hand grasping and fine manipulation (use of keyboard/writing) work
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat.
  • Considerable walking and transitioning between indoor and outdoor environments is required
  • Work a flexible schedule/hours based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Responsibilities:

  • This position is accountable for positioning inbound & outbound consumer facing digital communications, including developing and implementing social media campaigns that help to achieve company goals
  • Social media engagement (Twitter/Facebook/Instagram/Snapchat/Pinterest, Google+, etc.), planning and analysis
  • Manage and grow Busch Gardens & Adventure Island social communities through increased channel awareness, compelling content, consumer engagement and strategic placement
  • Develop, monitor, and report ROI from social channels; Provide reporting and analysis of key metrics associated with core projects
  • Develop, implement, and manage innovative ideas/promotions to drive greater relevance, engagement, and grow external social channels using campaign insights and best practices, test program results, and analysis of community profiles; Develop and share best practices for optimization improvements.
  • Oversee community management, including moderating support for park social media initiatives, scheduling content, and acting as the voice of Busch Gardens & Adventure Island brands
  • Escalate opportunities for thought leadership, engagement and crisis management to appropriate leadership
  • Keep a pulse on new technology and partners in the social media space and make recommendations for testing
  • Work in collaboration with other team members and agency partners to ensure initiatives have 360-degree support and alignment across all channels for consistency in social channels including approach, tone, engagement and content strategy
  • Develop and manage the day-to-day content calendar for park social channels
  • Partner with creative teams on content ideation, development and execution; Work collaboratively with PR, Brand and other park departments to ensure social media activities help to support key business initiatives.
  • Work in a team environment and interact with others in a professional manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned
