We are seeking an experienced attorney to provide legal support in the role of Corporate Counsel. The ideal candidate will have the ability to think and act both strategically and tactically to support the business objectives while ensuring compliance with law, policies, and industry best practices.
Position Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including NDAs, service contracts, vendor agreements, employment agreements, and severance agreements.
- Provide legal and compliance guidance regarding privacy and data protection to ensure privacy and data protection compliance while enabling business growth and innovation.
- Monitor and research federal and state laws and regulations and compliance trends pertaining to data protection and privacy laws.
- Work as a liaison with company departments including sales, sales support, technology, etc.
- Analyze complex legal issues and present recommendations to minimize legal exposure.
- Support the supervision of outside litigation counsel.
Position Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate from ABA accredited law school and membership in good standing of any state bar.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, preferably at a large law firm and/or corporate legal department.
- Ability to understand complex privacy & data protection laws and apply those concepts to challenging business and data constructs and processes.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced, demanding environment.
- Solid understanding of U.S. data protection and privacy laws, including FTC/CFPB Rules, Regulations, and Guidelines, GLBA, FCRA, CAN-SPAM, and similar laws.
