Mission Critical Solutions (MCS) of Tampa has an immediate opening for an Avaya Software Specialist/Programmer to reinforce our Telecommunications division. This division is responsible for designing, installing, and maintaining Enterprise Telecommunication Technology Infrastructure from Avaya (Nortel), including PBX/ACD, Voicemail, Unified Communications, Video, Call Recording, Reporting, carrier access (Dial Tone) and thier related systems applications for commercial and government clients.

This position will involve collecting requirements for and implementing the system software, stations, call vectoring, ACD requirements, call management system (CMS) and trunking to enable the Avaya Communications Manager (Rev. 6 and previous), System Manager, Session Manager, Aura Messaging (etc), to perform with maxiumum effectiveness.

Responsibiliites will Include:

  • Meeting with the lient to discuss the buton detail of the stations and the routing of the network and trunking. These meetings could be conducted remotely or at the client site
  • Occasional travel to the client’s site to conduct station reviews and discuss the integration of the network onto the new or exisiting equiptment
  • Designing basical call center flow (VDN’S and VECTORS) for the client
  • Responsible for assistance in staging, hardening, ground up installs, and program translations
  • Performing work on the client dial plan. This could involve a numbering change and are desing of the number of the digits the client uses
  • Software specialist will organize, manage and conduct Station Reviews to gather the information necessary to ensure the successful programming of the system

  • Demonstrate successful experience as a Software Specialist
  • Extensive knowledge of Avaya Communication Manager System (CMS), System Manager, Session Manager, Avaya Aura Messaging etc.
  • Excellent communications skills

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
