Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a talented HR Analyst for our corporate home office in Tampa FL.  This role requires an analytical benefits professional to work in a fast paced, highly collaborative environment; bringing their expertise and knowledge to administer benefits programs for our employees.

The Benefits Analyst is responsible Health & Welfare and 401(k) administration.  They serve as resident subject matter expert in benefit plans and programs, interacting with employees and HR team members. The right candidate will be highly organized with experience in vendor management and internal administration activity.

Position is office based in Tampa, with flexibility to work from home as needed.

How You’ll Contribute

  • You’ll act as a subject matter expert in benefits administration to communicate expectations and manage third party vendor activity and internal activity
  • You’ll own administration of employee benefits programs, including group health, spending and savings accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), pension and tuition reimbursement
  • You’ll ensure timely payment of monthly invoicing and internal auditing for benefit programs
  • You’ll determine employee eligibility and manage new hire, off cycle and annual enrollments
  • You’ll prepare reports and documentation to be filed with federal and state agencies, such as the Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor, insurance commissioners, and other regulatory agencies
  • You’ll navigate HRIS and timekeeping systems to leverage them effectively in managing employee benefits

Added Bonus if you Have

  • Knowledge and practical experience with administration and oversight of employer sponsored 401(k) programs
  • HRIS systems experience
  • Audit and compliance experience
  • Working knowledge of union multi-employer plans and/or benefits experience in a union environment

Working Conditions/Physical Effort

  • Typically sitting at a desk or table, working on a computer in excess of 85%.
  • 5-10% travel may be required

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of related professional experience; 5+ years preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), CEBS or World at Work designation preferred
  • Knowledge of pertinent federal and state regulations, filings, and compliance requirements, affecting employee benefits programs, including, ERISA, COBRA and ACA
  • Ability to prioritize and manage competing priorities, while meeting deadlines
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, industry standard HRIS systems and benefit databases
  • Experience in preparing and maintaining records, files, reports and correspondence
