Position Description:
As the Billing Specialist you will be responsible for Medicaid Managed Care, Medicare, and Commercial Insurance billing and collections. In this role, you will follow up with third party payers, assist with monthly closing reports, assist with the preparation of financial statements, review/appeal unpaid or denied claims, and update patient financial accounts. Our Billing Specialist uses coded data to produce/submit claims to insurance companies and often work directly with payers to get claims processed and paid. An ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of insurance coverage and handling collections.
This is a full time opportunity.
Position Requirements:
- Attention to detail
- Computer efficiency to include Microsoft Office Suite
- Availability Monday – Friday
- Flexible schedule – ability to work at least 1 weekend day per month
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge on insurance, eligibility, and benefits
- Ability to verify insurance eligibility for Medicaid/Managed Care and Third Party Insurance (including deductible and copays)
- Professional demeanor and excellent interpersonal skills
- Bilingual preferred

Required Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 year related experience specifically with insurance, eligibility, and benefits.
- Previous experience with Medicaid, Medicare, and Insurance billing, collections and financial analysis (Behavioral Health setting preferred) SAGE/MIP experience a plus
Required Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
