- Job Title: Bookkeeper/Accountant Position Overview: Organizes and executes the administrative services for the parish including accounting, human resources and other support activities as required.
Essential Job Functions- Processes and maintains Human Resource functions in conjunction with the Pastor and Human Resources Office for the Diocese of St. Petersburg Processes payroll thru common diocesan web-based software Records and processes business transactions and balance ledgers Processes accounts receivable and payable, account reconciliation, and journal entries Processes donations received from various revenue streams Prepares required monthly, quarterly and yearly reports for the Parish Finance Council and Diocese of St. Petersburg Finance Office Oversees online-giving Attends Diocese of St Petersburg training /meeting/discussion groups related to Human Resources, Accounting and Insurance as necessary Coordinates with Corpus Christi Catholic School bookkeeping regarding shared accounts and responsibilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field3+ years accounting / finance systems experience Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Knowledge of Paylocity Accounting and DOSP financial guidelines preferred
- Knowledge of how to use copier, fax, adding machine, phone system Positive attitude and generous team player Confidentiality and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
