Our family-owned construction and property management company is seeking a skilled and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and reconciling accounts for our construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and organizational skills, be able to multitask, and have a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for our construction projects
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts for all transactions related to our construction projects
- Process invoices and payments for vendors and subcontractors
- Monitor project budgets and expenses to ensure projects stay within budget
- Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly tax filings
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting for future projects
- Provide support to project managers and other team members as needed
- Ensure compliance with all accounting regulations and standards
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting using QuickBooks is required (construction or real estate development industries preferred)
- Sales or Customer Service experience is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Knowledge of MS Office, including Microsoft Excel
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
