Position Summary:
BRP Communications Manager is a strategic leader of the brand experience and story, both internally and externally. As a skilled storyteller and strategist, the leader of our communications team will have the unique opportunity to lead a diverse set of initiatives including public relations, media relations, reputation management, executive communications support, and colleague experience.
Key deliverables:
- Lead the internal communications voice and execution strategies to ensure transparency and clarity in all we do.
- Own the strategy for colleague experience from recruitment through retirement, scaling BRP as a destination employer throughout the nation.
- Create and support proactive public relations campaigns and new market entry to amplify the BRP house of brands in alignment with firm goals.
- Cultivate and nurture local, national and industry-related media relations.
- Lead strategies for reputation development and maintenance, including media mention and review management.
- In partnership with marketing specialists and business leaders, create and drive compelling storylines that differentiate our firm and elevate key priorities.
- Perform drafting, fact-finding, reviewing and finalizing of media materials, build and execute media relations plans, coordinate media interviews, and prepare spokespersons; when appropriate, serve as a spokesperson for the firm.
- Build brand reputation externally and excitement internally utilizing recognition through industry/employer/brand/community awards.
Day-to-day responsibilities in this role:
- Manage Colleague Experience team, which produces internal communications, events and programs to promote the engagement and wellbeing of our colleagues as well as the overall culture of the firm.
- Partner with the executive team to elevate their strategic internal and external communications through the support of presentations, scripting and mass email messaging.
- Work with subject matter experts to develop thought leadership article development; lead strategic placement to promote.
- Create and maintain firm communications assets, including intranet content, presentation decks, fact sheets, talking points and FAQs, etc.
- Edit and proofread high profile work for team members’ content, grammar and style; ensure compliance with BRP narrative.
- Monitor and report out media/news on BRP, BRP’s family of firms and our competitors.
- Consistently monitor, analyze and report out the results of campaigns and initiatives.
- Develop and maintain annual budgets.
The ideal candidate for this role will be:
- An experienced professional with 7+ years proven experience in brand communications, public / media relations at a growing business.
- Experienced or knowledgeable in the insurance or financial services industry and emerging trends.
- An exceptional writer, editor and verbal communicator.
- Skilled at presenting, storytelling and networking.
- Comfortable interacting with the executive team and providing counsel with confidence and ease.
- A resourceful self-starter who is detail-oriented comfortable taking ownership of high visibility, multi-faceted communications projects with ambiguity and moving targets.
- A big-picture thinker who is quick to understand how various initiatives fit into a larger strategy.
- An analytical thinker who can quickly evolve campaigns to achieve industry-leading results.
