Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Document and process incoming mail, endorsement requests and renewals as directed by BAM (Business Account Manager).
  • Processes certificates of insurance and evidence of property.
  • Reviews policies for accuracy, as directed by BAM.
  • Order MVR’S.
  • Transmit and receive E-mail with those companies with whom agency is on-line.
  • Receives client phone calls as back-up to BAM.
  • Maintains current, accurate information in the agency computer system, following agency systems and procedures.
  • May set up expired policies for filing.
  • May set up new client files as needed.
  • Administers accounts on behalf of BAM, as requested.
  • Assists with follow-ups for BAM including ordering loss runs.
  • Opens and distributes department’s mail and may in some offices be backup for receptionist.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or the recognized equivalent, required
  • Florida 4-40 license, required
  • Two years insurance agency experience, required

Technology Skills:

  • AMS 360 or similar agency management software experience, preferred
  • Possess strong administrative and computing skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point)

  • Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing of transactions and other responsibilities.
  • Maintains a cordial and effective relationship with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors and other business contacts.
  • Interacts with others effectively by utilizing good communications skills, cooperating purposefully and providing information and guidance, as needed, to achieve the business goals of the agency.
  • May maintain up to date technical manuals and understands how to perform technical tasks to expedite client service.
