Job Duties:
- Directs all phases of project management including procurement/contracting, initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling and closeout phases of the project while maintaining PMBOK standards.
- Key focus areas include scope, communication, procurement, budget, schedule, quality and risk management.
- Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company’s values.
- Creates, maintains and professionally manages vendor relationships throughout all business and project activities
- Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different client requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Interacts regularly with client(s) to ensure that project goals and objectives are established and achieved.
- Anticipates and responds to the client’s needs and concerns.
- Responsible for accurate, timely, and compliant contract procurement, contract negotiation, contract execution, contract administration, and closeout.
- Demonstrates ability to identify complex project risks, develop risk mitigation and contingency plans, and implement action plans to reduce or eliminate project risks for client and company.
- Oversees the preparation of accurate, timely, and complete reports to the client and company.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Participates in developing new business and maintains existing business relationships consistent with long term business development initiatives
- Participates in civic and business organizations.
- Conducts and maintains relationships with industry and trade associations, vendors, and professional organizations.
Certifications
- Must maintain an active PMP certification
Communications
- Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret project related business documents.
- Ability to respond effectively to sensitive project team and stakeholder issues.
- Ability to effectively communicate with project team and stakeholder utilizing all PMBOK tools and techniques
- Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with project stakeholders to take desired action.
- Ability to motivate and independently lead all project team members
Financial Knowledge
- Requires knowledge of standard PMBOK budgetary terms, methodologies, and principles.
- Prepares and reviews complex projects budget analysis and reports
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to solve project related problems and analyze a variety of options in complex situations.
- Draws upon the analysis of environmental process assets and organizational process assets to lead and recommend solutions improving the trajectory of project schedules, project quality and project budgets.
Other Skills
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Project or other Project Management software
